This feature allows users to send scans to their own e-mail address.
To use it, log in to the Canon NDD Print Client and access the feature via the Scan to me button.
The recipient's e-mail addresses will be filled in with the e-mail address registered with NDD Print Portal 360.
In cases where the user is not allowed to send emails to their own address, a default email must be set for all users.
The embedded system simply passes the email address provided by the user to the printer’s native scanning feature.
Email sending configurations, such as authentication, credentials, TLS/SSL, ports, and other parameters, depend exclusively on the printer and the email server being used.
Additional security requirements, such as two-factor authentication and an SMTP app password, are defined by the email provider and not by the embedded application.
Important Note Regarding Default Sender
Canon has a limitation related to the email scanning feature (“Email to Me”): the equipment provides only a single email field in the user interface, with no distinction between sender and recipient.
Therefore:
-
When the Default Sender is enabled in the NDD Print Host, the email address configured as the sender will replace the authenticated user’s email address.
-
Consequently, the scan will be sent to the email address configured as the Default Sender.
-
When this feature is disabled, the email address of the user authenticated on the portal 360 will be used.
This behavior is a manufacturer limitation and differs from other equipment that has separate fields for sender and recipient.
Important:
In mixed environments (with different manufacturers/models), we recommend carefully evaluating the use of the Default Sender, as its behavior may vary depending on the equipment.
