Welcome Guide

With the goal of expanding our operating system coverage, we developed the NDD Print Agent for macOS. This has allowed us to extend our solution to a larger number of users, keeping pace with the growing use of this operating system

What has changed in the macOS version?

Visually, there have been no significant changes. Users who have already used the NDD Print Agent module for Windows will find a very similar solution in the macOS version.

Below, we present the NDD Print Agent for macOS, as well as the features that are not yet available in this version:

What the NDD Print Agent Does

  • Print Job Accounting: Records and tracks all print jobs, collecting detailed information such as document name, number of pages, color or black-and-white usage, date, hour, and other relevant data.

  • User Interface: Facilitates interaction by applying quotas, usage policies, and/or authentication, when configured.

  • Job Hold: Allows documents to be held on the user’s computer and printed only after authentication and release at compatible terminals.

  • Application of Settings and Rules: Ensures that the policies and parameters defined in the NDD Print Portal 360 are enforced.

Above, we've provided a general overview of the features. If you'd like a more in-depth look at all the features of the NDD Print Agent for macOS, access Using the NDD Print Agent.

What the NDD Print Agent for macOS does not do

  • EcoToner: Currently, the macOS version is not compatible with the NDD Print EcoToner solution.

  • USB Printer Data Collection: It does not search or collect counter readings or supply information from printers connected via USB.

Backward Compatibility:

The new NDD Print Agent is incompatible with versions prior to 5.30.0. In this case, all NDD Print Agents installed in the environment must be updated to the new version, especially on the server.
