API Integration for Accessing Data from the NDD Print Portal 360

What is NDD Print 360’s API integration?

API integration connects data from the NDD Print portal 360 to external systems via SOAP Web Services.

With this integration, you can automatically retrieve and process information on print jobs and quotes without having to manually export reports.

What are the main benefits?

The integration allows you to:

  • automate data consumption by BI, ERP, financial systems, or internal portals;

  • reduce manual activities related to exporting, processing, and consolidating reports;

  • retrieve only the necessary data using date filters and specific fields;

  • support analyses of costs, print volume, printing behavior, and quota tracking;

  • integrate print management processes into the routines already used by the customer.

What information can be queried?

The API allows you to query information about print jobs, such as:

  • user and domain;

  • cost account;

  • equipment and print queue;

  • site and department;

  • monochrome and color pages;

  • costs;

  • simplex or duplex mode;

  • print date;

  • source application;

  • document title.

The fields returned depend on those selected in the query.

What methods are available for querying data?

PrintJobsData

GetPrintJobs

Returns print jobs based on the specified filters.

It is recommended for report integrations, BI, auditing, cost allocation, and volume analysis.

The query allows you to define:

  • the date;

  • the filter type, which can be print date or addition date;

  • the fields to be returned.

QuotasData

GetBalance

Returns the user’s quota balance, including corporate and personal credits, by pages, color, or value.

It is recommended for internal portals, balance inquiries, monitoring dashboards, and integrations with print control processes.

QuotasWS

GetUserQuotas

Returns the total quotas per user and allows you to apply filters by account, quota type, balance, credits, debits, and expired quotas.

It is recommended for management monitoring, consumption verification, and integration with user management systems or cost centers.

Does the API also allow you to change quotas?

Yes. The QuotasData Web Service provides methods to add or remove credits:

  • AddCreditTotalPages;

  • AddCreditColor;

  • AddCreditMoney;

  • DebitTotalPages;

  • DebitColor;

  • DebitMoney.

These methods should only be used when there is a defined and validated business rule, as they alter user quotas.

Can the integration be used with Power BI?

Yes. To do so, you must develop an integrator or ETL process capable of consuming the Web Services, processing the responses, and making the data available in Power BI.

The documentation describes SOAP Web Services with JSON responses. There is no mention of a native, automatic connector from NDD Print 360 to Power BI.

How is the data returned?

The Web Services return a string in JSON format. The integration application can deserialize this data and route it to a database, dashboard, ERP, or other analytics tool.

What information is required for authentication?

Queries use company information, such as the company name and key, as well as a user with the necessary permissions.

The password must be provided in encrypted form, as shown in the examples provided in the Integration Kit.

Is there any additional configuration required to query user quotas?

Yes. To use the GetUserQuotas method in on-premises environments, you must:

  • use NDD Print Portal 360 Local version 5.65.13;

  • configure the QuotasWS API on the server’s IIS.

What precautions should be taken?

  • Request only the fields necessary for integration.

  • Avoid excessive or unfiltered queries, especially in environments with high print volumes.

  • Protect the company’s credentials and key.

  • Assess the need for access to document titles, taking into account the customer’s privacy policies.

  • Process API error responses, including authentication failures, insufficient permissions, or daily access limits.

Where can I find the technical documentation?

The complete documentation, including WSDLs, parameters, return fields, encryption examples, and possible errors, is available at Integration Kit.
