Guide to Enabling the SMB 1.0 Protocol
Some older printers have compatibility only with the SMB 1.0 protocol. Therefore, we recommend checking whether the feature is active, as it may be disabled in some versions of Windows Server. If the protocol is inactive, follow these steps:
-
Open Programs and Features: Press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard to open the “Run” dialog box. Enter the command
appwiz.cpland press Enter. -
Access System Features: In the window that opens (Programs and Features), locate the left-hand sidebar and click the link “Turn Windows features on or off”.
-
Enable SMB 1.0 Support: In the list that appears, scroll down until you find the option “Support for SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing”. Click the “+” icon next to it to expand the list, check all the boxes inside, and click OK.
After completing these steps, Windows will usually prompt you to restart your computer to apply the changes.
