# NDD Print Client and Collector Lexmark

The NDD Print Client Lexmark is responsible for managing printer's Lexmark approved by NDD, working together with the other modules of the NDD Print solution. Management is done through three modules, each with its specific function, being:

## NDD Print Client Access Lexmark

This module aims to control access to printer, both for its native functions and to access NDD Print Client Lexmark module, providing greater security to users. Therefore, this module does not depend on other modules to work, considering that it only controls the access of the printer.

## NDD Print Client Lexmark

This module controls the release of documents, copies, fax and scan in a safe and efficient way, providing more mobility to the user. For the operation of this module, it is necessary that the NDD Print Client Access Lexmark module is installed and configured.

## NDD Print Client Collector Lexmark

This module aims to collect all the information on jobs, counters, supplies and alerts performed from the printer. After collecting this information, the NDD Print Client Collector Lexmark sends them to the server in the formats .NPL, .NSL, and .NPA. This module has no dependency on other modules to work, since it will only collect all events held at the printer.

# Authentication Methods

The available authentication options are those present in the NDD Print Host server configuration menus.

## Username and Password

In this authentication type, select the domain (if you have more than one domain registered on the NDD Print Host server) and enter your credentials.

## PIN and Secure PIN

When the authentication type is configured in this way, the user must enter the PIN or PIN and Secure PIN, as registered on NDD Print Portal 360.

## Physical identifier

Para To use this authentication type, the USB reader must be configured and connected to the equipment. To authenticate, bring your physical identifier close to the USB reader so your credentials are validated in the system.

### Physical Identifier Registration

The physical identifiers registration can be enabled to be done by the user at the equipment, and it is necessary to validate the access credentials (using the **Second Authentication** type) to confirm the data.
Starting with version 5.8.0 of NDD Print Client Access, authentication by physical identifier will also occur when the application is closed, that is, when the native printer menu is being viewed on the interface. For LesF2x models, this feature is not available due to equipment limitations.

## Contingency

If enabled in the NDD Print Client Access Lexmark configurations, this authentication type will allow access to native functions when there is no communication with the configured server. In this case, the authenticated user will always be "**In contingency**".
LesF2x 4-line devices do not support this authentication method.

# Configurar NDD Print Client Collector

From version 5.11.0 of **NDD Print Lexmark Client Collector** onwards, communication will only take place via the HTTPS protocol, and it will no longer be possible to send data via the HTTP protocol.

After authenticating with administrative credentials on the printer web page, go to the applications page, find the **NDD Print Client Collector Lexmark** ***.***The path may change depending on the printer and the framework, the most common being:

                          **To configure the module on printers with LesF2x 4 lines**
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. menu **Configurations** 2. **Embedded Solutions** 3. **NDD Print Client Collector Lexmark** 4. **Configure**

                            **To configure the module on printers with LesF2x and LesF3x framework**
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. menu **Settings** 2. **Embedded Solutions** 3. **Solutions (eSF)** 4. **NDD Print Client Collector Lexmark** 5. **Configure**

                          **To configure the module on printers with LesF4x framework**
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. menu **Settings** 2. **Apps** 3. **Apps Management** 4. **NDD Print Client Collector Lexmark** 5. **Configure**

                            **To configure the module on printers with LesF5x or higher**
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. menu **Select Option** 2. **Apps** 3. **Installed Apps** 4. **NDD Print Client Collector Lexmark** 5. **Configure**

## General collection settings and server upload

1. **Send time (hours)**: Enter the interval in hours that you want the accounting files, counters, supplies and events (NPL, NSL and NPA) to be sent to the configured server(s);

2. **Default domain**: domain to which all jobs captured by the printer will be assigned (when it does not obtain automatically);

3. **Multiple domains**: in environments that have more than one domain, enable this field so that jobs from different domains are counted for the specified domains.

It is necessary to use a specific print driver that collects the UPN (User Principal Name) provided by the manufacturer.
💡
domain_name_1=domain.example.local;domain_name_2=example_1.com,example_2.com

**Result** : domain.example.local will be assigned to "**domain_name_1** " and both the other (example_1.com and example_2.com) to "**domain_name_2**".

4. **Delimiters**: after activating this functionality, it will be necessary to configure the characters that will delimit from which part of the document title the user's login will be captured.

   5. Delimiters can be configured as follows:

      1. "Initial and Final Delimiter" or "Only a Initial Delimiter"

      2. "Only a Final Delimiter".

💡
The documents that will be sent to the print queue must have the structure as shown in the example below. In this case, initial and final delimiters were used:

**@@john@@document_title.txt**

In this example the user will be detected as **john** and the document name will be**document_title.txt.**
Functionality available only for devices LesF4x, LesF5x e LesF6x.

5. **SNMP community**: Configuration versions 1/2 and 3 of the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).

   The community versions can be configured as follows:
   1. ***SNMP v1/v2:*** Select the desired option and fill in the *SNMP Community* field with **public** or **private** information.

   2. ***SNMPv3***:

      Fill in all the fields below:
      * SNMP Community

      * Context name

      * User

      * Authentication password

      * Privacy password

      * Privacy algorithm: Select one of the options **DES** or **AES-128**

      * Random Authentication: Select one of the options **SHA1** or **MD5**

      * Minimum authentication level

        Select one of the options:
        * *No authentication, no privacy*

        * *Authentication, no privacy*

        * *Authentication and privacy*

To configure the SNMP V3 community, the SNMP data must be configured directly on the printer, which can be done on the device's web page

**Example:**Lexmark CX860

Configuration path: Settings \> Network/ports \>SNMP and SNMP **version 3**

## About TLS 1.2

**The Lexmark NDD Print Collector**module is prepared to operate with TLS 1.2 from version 5.xx onwards.

This is a function integrated into the module, so you only need to activate the protocol in the printer's native functions
**Configuration example on the device:**Lexmark CX860

# Control via policies

When activating job control via policies, the authenticated user's jobs will go through a filter (configured by the administrator) where the solution will inform you when jobs cannot be performed due to these jobs violating one or even all filters imposed by the administrator.

## Restriction policies

* **Printing**: after performing the printing process, the authenticated user will be alerted of the reason why the document was not allowed to be printed. This blocking can also occur when trying to print a delegated document, when the delegating user has restrictions;

**IMPORTANT**

The settings and description of the reason for the block are presented as configured on NDD Print Portal 360.

* **Copy**: in this case, when the authenticated user has restrictions to perform copy jobs, the user will be informed about the restriction (depending on the equipment model);

* **Scan**: in this case, when the authenticated user has restrictions to perform scan jobs, the user will be informed about the restriction (depending on the equipment model).

**IMPORTANT**

Restriction policies can be applied to user groups, equipment's or specific users.

## Alert policies

After performing the printing process, the authenticated user will be alerted of the reason why the document has not yet been printed. In this case, the user will be able to regularize the documents and release the printing. This behavior also occurs when trying to print a delegated document when the delegating user is restricted.

## Conversion policies

After starting the printing process, the authenticated user will be alerted that the documents can be converted (mono and/or duplex). Select if you want to convert them and click on the print icon to finish the process.

# Copy, Email and Fax Functions

## Copy

Here the copy jobs will be counted and deducted from the quota (page, cost and color) of the authenticated user. After authenticating with the printer and selecting the copy function, select the finality (if configured) for which the quota discount will be made.

When the authenticated user has a quota equal to or less than zero, or the number of jobs exceeds the existing quota, the user will be unable to access the copy function.
**ATTENTION**

**Quota on Copy:**

* The user value quota may be negative due to the copy discount function being performed after the job is completed;

* In order for the quota discount on copy jobs to occur correctly, access to the copy feature must be done via the main menu.

In order for the correct capture of users in the accounting of copies, fax and scan to occur through the NDD Print Client Collector, it is recommended to perform authentication through the **NDD Print Client Access**. In some cases, it is necessary to activate the device's LPR port in order for the capture to take place correctly at the printing time.

## Email

The Email function can be used by the authenticated user to send documents securely through the configured email server, and this function will always be active, however it depends on the printer's POP3 and SMTP configuration according to the network used. After accessing the functionality, the user will be directed to the printer's native interface. To send a document via email, fill in the fields and click **Send**.

## Email to me

The Email to Me function can be used by the authenticated user to send documents securely, through the email server configured on the printer, and this function will always be active, however it depends on the printer's POP3 and SMTP configuration according to the network used. After accessing the feature through the icon, the user will be directed to the printer's native interface. In it, the recipient field is automatically filled in with the user's email account configured in Portal 360. To send a document via email, fill in the fields and click **Send**.
**IMPORTANT**

For ease of use in e-mail functions, we recommend that access to these functions occurs through the main menu. To avoid any problems, we also recommend that the icons for accessing the device's native e-mail functions be disabled.

Valid in cases where the device has the **NDD Print Client Access** and **NDD Print Client** modules installed.
The embedded system simply passes the email address provided by the user to the printer's native scanning feature.

Email sending configurations, such as authentication, credentials, TLS/SSL, ports, and other parameters, depend exclusively on the printer and the email server being used.

Additional security requirements, such as two-factor authentication and an SMTP app password, are defined by the email provider and not by the embedded application.

## Fax

The Fax function can be used by the authenticated user to send documents securely, through the configured fax server, and this function will always be active, however it depends on the internal Fax configuration of the printer itself.

After accessing the feature through the icon, the user will be directed to the printer's native interface. To send a document, fill in the fields and click on **Send Fax**.

# Digital Shift

LesF2x 4-line, LesF2x and LesF3x devices do not support this feature.

The Digital Shift feature aims to facilitate the organization and input of documents and set permissions for user and user groups that can access these streams. Users can create forms on screen and use the data directly to the printer, arranging the scanned file, customizing the file name, and choosing the folder to save it.
![6x_en-20230127-142150.gif](https://helpcenter.nddprint.com/__attachments/a_ee58d5c9ef0685c8792b67edbb858d93d683c2d9f84578c5986f0a5bf485cfe6/6x_en-20230127-142150.gif?cb=196cd2743831b101a273b02d6a5b8b8e)
demonstration of Digital Shift feature
To optimize the use of the OCR functionality, we recommend that the AccuRead application be installed on the device.

* For printers with LesF4x framework, the app AccuRead is not build-in with the firmware, so need to contact the dealer or sales account to get the flash file together with the license and install to the device;

* AccuRead app is build in LesF5x or higher frameworks, so only OCR license is needed, but some model, by default, OCR license is included during purchasing the device.

The properties of the Scan Flows are configured in the NDD Print Host and NDD Print Portal 360 modules. For more details,[consult your manual](https://helpcenter.nddprint.com/en/manual-nddprint-digitalshift/Current.md).

# Documents

Here all the authenticated user documents will be listed. They can be sent through the NDD Print Releaser printing group, by uploading .pdf from NDD Print Releaser Web or NDD Print Releaser Manager.

## Pending Documents

Pending Documents will remain available until the user deletes them or is automatically removed for the configured expiration time.

## Saved Documents

Saved Documents will be available until the user deletes them, and there may be limitations on storage capacity in the form of quotas, that is, depending on the configured space (general or individual). This interface will list all documents that the user has chosen to save.
**ATTENTION**

On LesF2x 4-line devices, the user will be limited to using pending and saved documents only.

## Public Documents

They are sent via the NDD Print Releaser Web module or NDD Print Releaser Manager (documents in .PDF format) and are published in directories, where users can later print them. Public documents will be available until the uploading administrator deletes it.
**NOTE**

The public documents sent do not occupy the user's disk space, but when printed, they discount the quota from the that printed the documents (when using printing quota).

## Shared Documents

These are documents that have their permissions and costs extended to other users, in which the user who receives the share will print according to their own quotas. Shared documents will be available until the sharing user deletes it.

* **Tab Documents:**Lists all documents shared with the authenticated user together with the sharing user;

* **Tab Users:**In this interface, all users who shared documents with the authenticated user are displayed. When selecting a user, you can view all documents that were shared by him/her.

## Delegated Documents

They are documents that have only their permissions extended, in which the user is tasked with releasing the document owner printing. Therefore, the quota discount will be made only for the delegating user. Delegated documents will become available and will be removed or not, according to the settings chosen at the time of delegation.

* **Tab Recent** : Documents that have recently been delegated to the authenticated user will appear in the **Recent** tab, which will be listed for 24 hours after delegation. This list shows the document and the user who delegated it;

* **Tab Users**: This interface displays all users who have delegated documents to the authenticated user.

**PIN synchronisation**

In some cases, even after completing the PIN creation process, you may not be able to log in. In this case, a message on the printer screen will indicate that the PIN is being processed. We recommend waiting a few minutes before attempting to log in again.
![Entra ID 3.png](https://helpcenter.nddprint.com/__attachments/a_d351f9415ff2ca3fa107f52ce7339b1967af4e1858a0810edb8b145913125010/Entra%20ID%203.png?cb=e0fbd7e793f8db53e1d94db6c769ab90)
**Important**

Due to Microsoft security requirements, **additional checks** will be requested whenever it is necessary to renew the PIN link with the user registered in the Microsoft Entra ID domain. The renewal period will be determined by the settings established by the domain administrator.
![Entra ID 4.png](https://helpcenter.nddprint.com/__attachments/a_2637d71e44138a8d96b65d695e4990ac7315c88ed069ca44aa0d3f4612cc1d3d/Entra%20ID%204.png?cb=01ab8881e598406d78f5f920558a2873)

The process will follow the model previously described for creating the PIN, where the user must scan the QR code to be directed to the Microsoft portal, enter the code displayed on the printer screen and finish by linking the user to the Microsoft Entra ID domain.

*** ** * ** ***

### **Physical identifier**

For this type of authentication, there has been no change to the registration process. For this, access control must be configured in the **NDD Print Host** ([Configure authentication](https://helpcenter.nddprint.com/en/manual-nddprint-host/Current/manual-nddprinthost-pt-manual-nddprinthost-pt-c-10.md) ) to allow authentication by physical identifier. It is also necessary to enable the PIN code option, which will serve as a way to identify the user during the registration of the physical identifier.
**Before starting**

As Microsoft Entra ID **does not support integration with user and password** authentication, make sure that the user already has an associated PIN, as this will be required for identification when registering the physical identifier.

### **Registration of Physical Identifier**

#### Hold the Identifier Close

* Hold the identifier close to the reader.

* The user will be informed that the identifier is not registered and will be instructed to select another authentication method, such as the **PIN**

#### **Validate Access Data**

* After selecting the authentication method, enter your access data using the **PIN**.

* Then, hold the identifier up to the reader again to confirm registration.

* The user will be notified that the identifier has been successfully registered and will be instructed to click on Enter to access the application.

# Send configuration via DDU (Device Deployment Utility)

[Visit the Lexmark Support website to download the tool](http://support.lexmark.com/index?productCode=DEVICE_DEPLOYMENT_UTILITY&segment=SUPPORT&frompage=null&page=product&locale=pt_BR&userlocale=PT_BR#1)
To send the configuration of NDD Print modules to printer's via DDU tool, it is necessary to import the configuration file (.ucf)
In environments that have printer's with different Frameworks, consider:

* To send the configuration of NDD Print modules, it is not necessary to create different deployments in order to separate printer's by framework;

* To send the printer configuration, it is necessary to create different deployments (printer's Les4x / printer's LesF5x or higher).

## Create the deployment and add the printer's

1. Click **Add New**;

2. Create a name and description (if desired) for the deployment and click **Edit Device List**;

   * Here, equipment can be added in two ways:

     * **Add a device** : enter the printer address (IP or Hostname) and click the**"+" button**;

     * **CSV file** : import a file (.csv format) listing the printer's addresses (IP or Hostname) and click on the **"+" button**.

3. After adding the printer's, they will be listed in the **Discovered devices** field, being possible to remove them individually by clicking the **"-" button**;

4. Check the option **Secured Device** if printers are password protected;

5. Click **OK**.

## Sending configuration

Sending configuration to printer
1. Click**Add Configuration Files (.zip);**

2. Check the **Standard Configuration File;**

3. Click **Select Configuration File (\*.zip);**

4. Select the desired configuration file and click **Open;**

5. Click**OK.**

Sending configuration to NDD Print modules
1. Click**Add Settings Files (.ucf) \> Settings File;**

2. Check the**Standard UCF file**option;

3. Click**Select settings file (\*.ucf);**

4. Select the desired settings file and click **Open;**

5. Click**OK.**

1. Click **Save;**

2. Select the directory where the deployment will be saved and click **Save;**
If the **Secured devices**option was previously checked, you will need to provide the printer username and password
Remembering that this saved package can be used for other installations, just needing to adjust the addresses (IP or Hostname).
The created deployment will be listed in the list of deployments, and you can edit it.

3. Click the **Play** button to start sending files;

4. To check progress, click **Status.**

# NDD Print Client y Collector Lexmark

## NDD Print Client Access Lexmark

## NDD Print Client Lexmark

## NDD Print Client Collector Lexmark

1. **Intervalo de Envío:**digite el intervalo en horas que desea que los archivos de accounting, contadores, consumibles y eventos (NPL, NSL y NPA) sean enviados a los servidores configurados;

2. **Dominio Predeterminado:**dominio para el cual serán atribuidos todos los trabajos capturados por la impresora (cuando la misma no obtiene de forma automática);

💡
nombre_dominio_1=dominio.ejemplo.local;nombre_dominio_2=[ejemplo.com](http://ejemplo.com/)

Resultado: **dominio.ejemplo.local** será atribuído para "**nombre_dominio_1** ", y el otro ([**ejemplo.com**](http://ejemplo.com/)), para "**nombre_dominio_2**"

* "Delimitador Inicial y Final" o "Solo un Delimitador Inicial"

* "Solo un Delimitador Final"

💡

   2. ***SNMPv3***:

      Rellene todos los campos siguientes:
      * Comunidad SNMP

      * Nombre de contexto

      * Usuario

      * Contraseña de autenticación

      * Contraseña de privacidad

      * Algoritmo de privacidad:Seleccione una de las opciones: **DES** o **AES-128**

      * Autenticación aleatoriaSeleccione una de las opciones: **SHA1** o **MD5**

## Paso 1: Crear el archivo CSV

### He aquí un ejemplo:

Las impresoras con direcciones 192.168.1.11 (HP), 192.168.1.15 (EPSON) y 192.168.1.18 (LEXMARK) serán monitorizadas por este mismo NDD Print Collector.

En este caso, la estructura de archivos será la siguiente:

    192.168.0.11;
    192.168.0.15;
    192.168.0.18;

## Paso 2: Importar el archivo

1. En Múltiples dispositivos, haga clic en Activar

* **Copia**: en este caso, cuando el usuario autenticado posee restricciones para efectuar trabajos de copia, un aviso será mostrado al usuario (dependiendo del modelo de la impresora);

* **Scan**: en este caso, cuando el usuario autenticado posee restricciones para efectuar trabajos de scan, un aviso será mostrado al usuario (dependiendo del modelo de la impresora).

**IMPORTANTE**

* Para las impresoras con framework LesF4x, la aplicación AccuRead no está integrada con el firmware, por lo que debe comunicarse con el distribuidor o la cuenta de ventas para obtener el archivo flash junto con la licencia e instalarlo en el dispositivo;

* La aplicación AccuRead está integrada en Impresoras con framework LesF5x o superiores, por lo que solo se necesita una licencia de OCR, pero algunos modelos, de forma predeterminada, se incluyen una licencia de OCR durante la compra del dispositivo.
